Now You Can Plan Your Event and Check-In - Lunchwalla Integrates with Foursquare
May 3, 2010 By: Lunchwalla, LLC Category: Website Update
PRESS RELEASE 5/3/2010 - TAMPA, FLORIDA
Lunchwalla, the site for organizing everyday social events like breakfast, lunch, dinner,
movies, concerts, sporting games and local events, now integrates with Foursquare to bring
complete, one-stop event planning - from voting on what to do to checking in when you get there.
- Whether it's lunch with coworkers, dinner and a movie with a date, or a night at
the local ballpark with your friends, Lunchwalla helps you do it all. You select
event options - restaurant picks, movie times, concert dates, sports games, venues
and more - invite others and have everyone vote on what they want to do. Through
its integrations with OpenTable®, Tribune Media Services, Fandango, Ticket Master,
StubHub and others, Lunchwalla then helps you make reservations, buy tickets and
now check-in at the location via Foursquare.
- Not only does your check-in at the Lunchwalla event pop up on your Foursquare profile
and count towards your quest to be mayor of your favorite hot spot, but the check-in
also gets aggregated into your event conversation stream on your Lunchwalla profile,
which earns users additional points.
- The Foursquare integration with Lunchwalla also allows you to import your Foursquare
friends into your Lunchwalla contacts list with just one click. Now you've expanded
your contacts base for planning events and meeting friends in person.
- Along with the Foursquare integration, Lunchwalla has revamped the "Lunchwalla Points" system to bring you extra rewards:
- Plan a lunch, dinner or movie - earn 5 points
- Check in at event venue using Foursquare - earn 5 points
- Invite a Lunchwalla member to your event - earn 3 points
- Attend a Lunchwalla event - earn 3 points
- Invite a non-member to your event - earn 1 point
- Every week, Lunchwalla will calculate the number of points accumulated by Lunchwalla
users during that week. At the end of the week, the five highest Lunchwalla Point
earners for the week will receive gift cards from various establishments/merchants.
Use it at your next Lunchwalla event!
- Since it launched in March 2010, Lunchwalla has continued to expand to offer a one-stop
site for planning events. Starting with eating and drinking establishments, Lunchwalla
began by offering users the ability to plan, read menus and reviews, vote and make
reservations for breakfast, lunch, dinner and drinks. Lunchwalla then added movies,
concerts, sports, and local activities to the site, as well as the ability to purchase
tickets through its partnerships.

"Since we launched, Lunchwalla has been providing people with a fun, easy and interactive
way to plan an event. We wanted to take that one step further and let people share
what events they've attended and where they've been. Foursquare provides a great
way to do that and our users are already excited about the ability to check in at
their next Lunchwalla event."

"We've recently added Lunchwalla to our API gallery at foursquare.com and are excited
to provide them the ability to connect to Foursquare to allow their users to "check
in" to their planned events. Likewise, Lunchwalla provides a unique fun and easy
tool for Foursquare users to plan where they want to go, with whom and let the group
vote."
